drugstore powder recommendations

A good powder is a must- have in every make up bag. Not only to finish up your look but to settle everything into place.
I am not a fan of spending too much money on powder so I tried out quite a few from the drugstore and these once are my favorites.

 1.
This one is by catrice cosmetics and is as it says on the packaging a mattifying powder. It´s in the color 010 translucent. The reason why I do love the product is, because it really is a transucent powder. It leaves your skin in a matt finish and doesn´t add color to your face. The color of your foundation underneath stays the same.
(why it says waterproof on the packaging is a mystery for me- no powder is really waterproof)

2.

This powder is by Rimmel London. I have two different kinds of these powders. This one in the color 001 transparent and the one beneath (3.). Both are from their range stay matte. This one is similar to the one by catrice cosmetics it doesn´t add color to your face, it just leaves your skin all matt.
This is the powder I reach for on a daily basis.

3.

This one is in the color 003 peach glow. I like to use this one if I want to add a bit more color to my face. For example when I have a break out or when I just feel like I need a bit more coverage. I also use it when I just feel like I don´t just want a matt finish but a bit of glow. It leaves a matt finish but you still see a bit of glow from your foundation underneath, which I personally love.

All this powders have drugstore prices and you can find them in your local drugstore or online (for example amazon.)

I hope this is helpful for you and you enjoyed reading this post.

Love Tanya

Love Tanya is a book written by the lovely Tanya Burr. Tanya is a youtube- star, blogger and vlogger. She has always been an inspiration to me and I was thrilled when she announced that she is writing a book.
Love Tanya has 12 chapters and two extra chapters in the end.

I love the recipes and baking tips Tanya wrote down. I already tried her famous cookies on page 212.

My favorite chapters is the one where Tanya talks about her love life. It´s written really cute and I am an absolutely fan of her and Jim. While reading this chapter all I thought was that I want to have a relationship like theirs one day. Jim and Tanya are what you call a perfect match

I also find the chapter about fashion really helpful. Tanya gives tips how to dress yourself when you have a specific figure. What kind of shapes are the best for your body type and what kind of material is flattering. The whole chapter is just inspiring.

Tanya wrote down quite a lot lists at the end of most chapters. I love the list of things she does when she is stressed out or anxious. Things like having a lush bubble bath or just a simple thing like wearing a really cosy onesie are good to keep in mind when you feel stressed or not your best.

All in all, Tanya is a sweetheart and Love Tanya is one of the most inspiring books I have read so far. I just love her and I think the book couldn´t be better structured. It´s amazing.

I hope you liked this blogpost and maybe you want to give it a try and read Tanyas lovely book.

The perfect red lip

How to create the perfect red lip: my favourite products

A red lip can be a lot of things, but one thing is clear, a red lip gives your self-esteem a boost. A red lip is just super sexy.

The right preparation is very important if you want to have a smooth red lip. You don´t want little pieces of dry skin pop out under your red lipstick. To avoid dehydrated skin I am using a lip scrub twice a week. It gets rid of all dryness and old skin of your lip.
This one is by lush and tastes like bubblegum which is awesome!

Before applying your lipstick always use lip balm or lip butter to give your lips moisture. This also avoids that your lipstick settles in the little folds of your lip.

This step is a must do! if you apply a bold lipstick you should always line your lips. Select a lipliner which is the same color or close to the color of the lipstick your are going to wear.
If it´s not the same color, smooth out the harsh lines with a pencil brush or your fingers.

To get the look of a fuller lip use a very light color and place it in the center of your lip (bottom lip and upper lip- only in the center. This works like a natural highlight and gives the illusion of a fuller lip.

Obviously, you should have chosen a lipstick color before applying a lipliner. So this is just to give you an idea of a few lipsticks I love to use when I go for a bright red lip.

The first swatch you see here is a lipstick by P2 in the color 080 via montenapoleone. The 2nd one is by MAC in the color ruby woo EA3. This lipstick has a matt finish. The next one is also by P2 and is a bit more dark than the first one. This is the color red square. If you want to go for a more glittery look the Soft Sensation lip color butter in the color 015 by astor is the go to product for you.

I hope this blogpost useful for you. Leave a comment if you liked it and if you want me to do another red lip blogpost with more darker colors, berry tones. Let me know what you think.

Thank you for reading,

Skin care routine

As long as I can remember I always had big issues with my skin. I never had clear or smooth skin and I hated it. I was very insecure about it in my teenage years and I still have my days where I just want to hide my skin. I did try out every drugstore brand you can possibly think of. Nothing worked for my skin.
I heard a lot of good things about the brand clinique but I could never bring myself to try it out, because it is quite expensive.
After I came back from London, the first time I stayed there for a few months my skin got even worse and I convinced myself that its time to try it out.
This was 6 months ago now. I got my skin analyzed and tried out the 3 step anti blemish program.
I have to say my skin felt better after just one week. My skin was smooth and my blemishes didn't hurt anymore.
After 2 months I finished the bottles and went to a clique stand again. They analyzed my skin again and recommended the 3 steps - skin care program.
I would like to get into more detail about this program.

The first Step is to cleans your skin with the Liquid facial soap
I use a face cleansing brush by braun with the soap. I am wetting the brush before applying the soap so my skin gets really smooth after removing the soap with warm water.

The second Step is to use the Clarifying lotion. I use a tiny amount of the lotion on a cotton ball and spread it all over my face.

The last step within this 3 step program is to moisturize your face with the dramatically different moisturizing gel.

two times a week I will use the 7 day curb cream to have a maximum cleansing effect.
I also use the anti- blemish solutions oil- control cleansing mask once or twice a week.
I still have this mask when I started using the 3 step anti- blemish program and I absolutely love this face mask.

I have quite oily skin and I thought, like most people do that adding moisturizer only get my skin even more oily. This is not the truth. Even though your skin might be oily like mine is, it still needs moisture. To add moisture to my skin, I use the moisture surge extended thirst relief gel- creme every now and then.
This facial cream is sensational. you can almost feel your skin drinking it up ;)

When I do have blemishes which I still got, unfortunately. I´ll use the anti- blemish solutions clinical gel. You can apply it punctual or on a specific zone in your face. It can burn a bit when you apply it but it does really work. I only use it over night.

To give my eyes a bit of a treatment as well. I love to use the all about eyes treatment. It´s really smooth and you only need a tiny amount of it.

I hope you find these tips and tricks useful. These once really did their magic with my skin and I can recommend clinique products by heart.
